"Hi Chris & Kim,
I am writing to confirm that I have received and processed your Letter Seeking Confirmation. Congratulations!
Your signed LSC and your child’s DS-230 will be mailed to China today 11/5/2010. Once our staff receives your paperwork, they will forward it to the U.S. Consulate.
The U.S Consulate is also required to sign an approval document, and they will only do so after they receive your child’s DS-230, the confirmation letter from NVC and your I-800/I-864W approval from the NBC. Once they receive all of this documentation, the consulate will issue what is called an Article 5. The Article 5 takes approximately weeks 2- 4 weeks to process. Our courier will pick this up from the consulate and forward it back to Beijing for delivery to the CCAA. If you are keeping track in this process, please remember holidays and mail shipment time can cause the processing to vary.
Once both your LSC and the Consulate’s Article 5 are at the CCAA, they will begin working with your child’s provincial Civil Affairs office to issue your Travel Approval or TA - this can take 2-4 weeks to process. Once we have the TA we will then determine your dates of travel and request your Consulate appointment. "
We are in the homestretch. It's been less than a year and according to our agency we are flying through the process. It sure feels like it's taking forever but I know it won't be too much longer.
